Well I'm going to try something new here. I just scheduled the next meetup in conjunction with the /. meetup at Channels Internet in Providence. I'm hoping we can get a decent turnout if we mix the two groups (with similar interests).

Thoughts??

Ok, I don't know how many have met at this other meetup your talking about but I admire your effort and I'll spread the word to my friends who have since quit this site... I'll try to go as well. I just hope this works out alright because when this sight started for 2600 in providence, I think My group met 1 other guy, most of the time people just don't show or rsvp a "NO" responce canceling the meeting!
Lets hope for luck
other members please respond as well so i can see your alive! I have email if you don't wanna post

They seem to have the same issues as this group has faced -- a small number of folks that have tried to get this going at different times. I'm hoping we can get enough interest between the two to start a regular meetup. If we can do that, attendance should climb as time goes on.

I just heard of this site today in a blurb about Scott Heiferman in this months MITTR. Not sure what happened with the meeting yesterday, but if there is a future one I'm in! Geek interests mostly free software, security, and wireless.

BTW I work at a Borders (in North Attleborough). Unless this group's meetings gets scads of attendees (which it seems is not a problem) I would think that meeting at a Borders should be no prob, but I like Panera better-- the wifi is free.biggrin

Dude, you're into wireless. I have a friend who also is, and I am. Maybe there's a better chance of meeting up outside of these meetups. I've been a member for over a year and I've seriously seen maybe 1 person other than myself and a couple of friends i know anyway. post you email because it won't let me contact you until i go m+ and i say %^&* that!!

Well Panera was okay. Plenty of tables (could be a problem if the group were over ten in size, but that doesn't seem to be an issue ;)

I was there from 5:00 - 5:45 -- didn't see anyone else with any tech stuff there at that time. If someone else was there, we might need some recognition signal then because the meet up didn't happen. confused
